Arizona Public Service (APS) announced that a 280-megawatt (Mw) concentrating solar power plant to begin operating in 2011, reducing the region’s CO2 emissions at that time by around 500,000 tones. The southwestern state currently emits nearly 100 million tones CO2 per year.
